Winston's Dog is the kind of guitar driven indie rock band you'll never hear on the radio. With the steady lineup of singer Jon Robins, bassist Pete Mazzaccaro and guitarists Bill Schwartz and Jason Murray, the band has crafted a sound that owes as much to the Smiths as Sonic Youth.
In fact you'll never know what to expect from a Winston's Dog song. The band is as likely to serenade with a pretty pop number as hit you in the head with a sledgehammer. They eschew the easy hook for structures that build and evolve and never stand in place. It's not revolution, but it's not radio rock either.
With newish member, drummer Paul Ramsey the band has been enjoying a renaissance on the local rock scene and finishing a nine-song album due later this year.
